Blue-gray Gnatcatcher

Blue-gray Gnatcatchers rank high on the cuteness scale but they’re always so far up in the trees.   Until their fuzzball fledglings arrive, that is, then it’s anything goes! Judging by the fluff on some of these little q-tips, I’d say they were pretty fresh off the nest. We walked along together for fifty yards before they got bored and started moving away. I continued my journey alone, but apparently you don’t get to be done watching a gnatcatcher until THEY say it’s time, because they came racing up from behind me and we continued our walk!
