Fox Sparrow

The other day there was a fox squirrel blocking my path and I said “Hey Foxy Roxy!” I was so amused; more clever and hilarious words had never before been spoken! As I stood there baffled as to why I thought it was so funny, a bird plopped down on a branch just above that squirrel. He was reddish brown with a white, speckled belly; a distinctive bird and one which I knew very well. Unfortunately I still had foxy roxy stuck in my head and I was looking at this bird and all I could think was foxy. Foxy? What’s happening right now? As total confusion set in I took a deep breath and started over. Fox. Squirrel. Fox. Sparrow… Oh! Fox Sparrow! DUH!!!
