Ladybug

It was a slow day birding so I decided to seek out some other amazing critters to photograph. The Celery Bog was seemingly devoid of wildlife, which made the experience even more surreal.  My mind started to wander as I stood there, hypnotized by the silence. That’s when I spotted a tiny black lady bug with orange spots. Hmmm, that seems backwards to me, did I just discover another new species? Cool! Wait a minute, never mind the spots, are those blue eyes on that little bug? I hurried to get another look at those eyes as she traversed the seemingly alien landscape, and just before disappearing behind a giant green shag rug of a milkweed leaf, she paused long enough for me to see that she does indeed have big blue eyes.
