Northern Parula

Parula. PAR-you-lah. Pah-ROO-lah. I like the last one. While the adult male Northern Parula is easily distinguishable from the many, many migrating warblers, some of the juveniles start to blend in a little. I’ve probably seen several parulas over the years and didn’t realize it. Until this year, that is. I’ve had three sightings this fall! Now if I could just get the pronunciation right. Naw, I’m sticking with Pah-ROO-lah!
