Blackpoll Warbler

Bright orange feet are what distinguish a fall Blackpoll Warbler from the myriad other migrating yellow fluffballs. And food; it seems to me that while most warblers are foraging on flies, gnats and spiders, the blackpolls can be found bellied up to the nearest, ripest fruit bar. And don’t get me started on birds with food… oh boy, too late! I just love watching birds with food; there’s a glow about them when presented with their favorite grub. They seem a bit happier, giddier almost, and even more cooperative than usual. Or maybe it’s just me who’s giddier.
