I can’t get over the fact that a creature like this exists at all, let alone that there a dozens of them paddling around at the Celery Bog. The spots and speckles and freckles, the strips and stripes of black and white and brown and green. It’s all just too much for me to process. The Wood Duck population here has been steadily growing over the past few years but they still won’t let me get within a hundred yards. Until today, that is. I think I can officially stop calling them Wood Chickens!
