Trumpeter Swans

This time of year the floaty birds flock to isolated pools of open water as the bog ice inches ever closer. Usually that open water is waaay on the other side of the bog, leaving me squinting to see who’s out there, and complaining about it to some uninterested squirrel. This morning however, I noticed open water near the bridge as I crossed, and there were Trumpeter Swans paddling around!
