This impressive little bird made his introduction to me in typical warbler fashion: point blank, in your face, “what’s up, dude!” He went zipping past, made a u-turn and stopped a few feet away to say hello. He was more curious about the noise coming from my camera than he was concerned about me. Every few clicks he would come right up and give my lens a quick once over. We walked along the edge of the bog for twenty minutes and I’m still not sure who was following who. At one point I took a phone call from my brother, uhh… I mean from National Geographic, and lost sight of my new Yellow-throated Warbler pal, but once I got off the phone he came right back and we resumed our walk. It never ceases to amaze me how friendly these warblers are!
